Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how CCW Map ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application.

1. Account Information
- Email Address: Required for account creation and authentication
- User ID: Automatically generated unique identifier for your account
- Password: Stored securely (hashed) via Supabase authentication
2. Location Information
- Approximate Location: Used to center the map on your current position
- Note: Location data is processed locally on your device and is NOT transmitted to our servers or stored in our database
3. User-Generated Content
- Pin Data: Location coordinates and status (green/yellow/red) of carry zones you mark
- Restriction Tags: Information about restriction types for NO_GUN zones
- Metadata: Timestamps and user IDs associated with pins for accountability
- Note: All pins are publicly visible to all app users
4. Safety and Moderation
- Pin Reports: When you report a pin, we store the pin reference, your user ID as reporter, the reason you selected, and any optional note. Reports are visible only to moderators, not to other users.
- Blocklist: When you block another user, we store a record linking your user ID (blocker) to theirs (blocked). This record is used to hide the blocked user's pins from your map.
- Terms Acceptance: When you accept the Terms of Use, we store your user ID, the version of the terms, and a timestamp. This record demonstrates consent and triggers re-acceptance if the terms materially change.
How We Use Your Information
Account Information
- Authenticate your identity when you log in
- Associate your contributions (pins) with your account for accountability
- Communicate important service updates (if necessary)
Location Information
- Center the map on your current position for better user experience
- Help you navigate to nearby carry zones
- Not stored on servers - processed locally only
User-Generated Content
- Display carry zone information to all app users
- Build a community-sourced database of carry zones
- Enable collaborative mapping and updates
Information Sharing
Public Information
- Pin data (location coordinates, status, and restriction tags) is publicly visible to all users
- Your email address is NOT shared publicly

Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Pin Data: Retained indefinitely to maintain community database
- Location Data: Not stored on servers
Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
- Secure Authentication: Passwords hashed using industry-standard algorithms (Supabase)
- Access Controls: Only authenticated users can create, edit, or delete pins. Pin creation, edits, and deletions are crowd-sourced — any signed-in user can modify or remove any pin to keep the map accurate.
- Row-Level Security: Database policies enforce user permissions
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the app at your own risk.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: View all pins you've created in the app
- Delete Your Data: Delete individual pins or your entire account (Request Account Deletion)
- Correct Your Data: Update or modify pins you've created
- Export Your Data: Request a copy of your data by contacting us

Children's Privacy
This app is NOT intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
